Black, red & white

This quilt was part of Pioneer Patchworkshops BOM program in 2012/2013. It comprised of 12 sampler blocks, with 3 different versions to set them. This version was quilted with modern paisley again, this time using a black thread. Completely different look to the previous one.

Stunning black & white

This quilt was one of my recent favourites. A disappearing nine patch pattern. Quilted with 'modern paisley'. Making a black and white quilt just got added to the list.

Community quilts

I recently joined the Campbelltown Patchwork and Quilters guild and amongst other activities they also have a community quilt program. These quilts go to community members for various reason, be it illness or for comfort. It took a couple home to quilt, they're only smaller projects and it's always nice to give something back.

Beautiful Rosings

This was a hand appliqué extravaganza. The quilt is called Rosings, after the estate in pride and prejudice, taught by a local teacher Katrina Hadjimiichael. There is a lot of hand stitching in the centre. Sometimes people think that quilts like this need to be custom quilted. I don't think the edge to edge design took too much away from it. The design is called 'Maidenhair'

Stack and slash quilt

Another clever piecing method was used to make this quilt. It is called stack and slash, basically layer together 5 squares, cut into 5 pieces, sew them back together and you will have a beautiful randomly pieced quilt top. I like how some of the blocks intertwine. It gives the quilt an interesting dimension. Quilted with 'cotton puffs'.

Beautiful back!

My friends from BlanketLovez are getting another finished quilt today. It is a double bed quilt, which will brighten up one of the rooms at Ronald McDonald House in Orange. Quilted with 'dog bones'

First quilt

This is my customer's first ever quilt top. Hasn't she a great job? A bit of piecing, a bit of appliqué in very pretty girly colours. And she is going to give it to her niece. Well done!
Quilted with "Triple Heart butterfly".
