Part of my journey so far was quilting for a local charity BlanketLovez
www.blanketlovez.com
When I first got my Statler Stitcher, BlanketLovez set out on a quest to donate 50 quilts to the bushfire victims from the 2013 fires in the Blue Mountains. I was only more then happy to dedicate some of my time to this cause, being fortunate enough to own a longarm quilting machine. This charity also supports Ronald McDonald house in Orange, Royal Melbourne children's hospital, Westmead Children's Hospital, just to name a few. A mother of three, children's well being is very close to my heart and I know from experience that all kids love their own special blanket, especially when they aren't feeling so well or need to be comforted. There was a synergy effect, I needed practice, BlanketLovez needed quilting. Deal done :-). Below some examples of "my" charity quilts.
