Stack and slash quilt

Another clever piecing method was used to make this quilt. It is called stack and slash, basically layer together 5 squares, cut into 5 pieces, sew them back together and you will have a beautiful randomly pieced quilt top. I like how some of the blocks intertwine. It gives the quilt an interesting dimension. Quilted with 'cotton puffs'.

Detailed shot, showing 'cotton puffs' beautifully
Beautiful back!

Charity Quilt

My friends from BlanketLovez are getting another finished quilt today. It is a double bed quilt, which will brighten up one of the rooms at Ronald McDonald House in Orange. Quilted with 'dog bones'

First quilt

This is my customer's first ever quilt top. Hasn't she a great job? A bit of piecing, a bit of appliqué in very pretty girly colours. And she is going to give it to her niece. Well done!
Quilted with "Triple Heart butterfly".

Movement in squares

I finally finished my first modern quilt. It was a pattern from Benartex called movement in squares. Very simple piecing, the effect comes from the fabrics. Quilted with 'zendoodle'. I entered it into the modern quilt show in Berry at the beginning of May. Wish me luck :-)

Beautiful star quilt

I finished another quilt for a customer. A rather large bed quilt, love the colour combination of creams and blues. Quilted with a design called "luck of the Irish". Apparently the lady's daughter in law comes from Ireland. What a lovely thought.

New favourite pattern

I bought a new digitised pattern today. It's from the zendoodles range. Look how random, modern and exciting it is! So cannot wait to use it on one of my quilts.

Perfect point centre

This must be the ultimate cleverness in patchwork: have a centre with squares and they all line up perfectly. It is possible. :-) take a pre-printed panel. Quilted with 'the garden'. Love the backing too!
